I hooked up an in dash dvd in a 2004 gmc yukon. the only problem i have is....I am trying to locate the wire to give me switch power on the first click when the ignition is turned over. in other words i want the radio to come on with the first click instead of the last one that turns everything on right before starting.

thanks in advance,
jamey

It would be best to have a DC voltage meter or light probe for this step.

In most vehicles, we have 3 primary circuits to power the HU.

1. ACC/IGN: Only has power on it when key is in the ACC/IGN mode. This only has 12 volts from the battery when the key is in the ACC/IGN location

2. Constant power: This circuit is always powered to maintain clock, station memory and other presets.

3. Ground the HU to floorpan, firewall or metal panel inside the dash. Most Aftermarket HU's do not do well with factory grounds that are also tied to other dash devices.

Are you also using the ILL function for this new HU/Player?
