I was looking to buy an amp for my PG Tantrum 12 and just looking for ideas about what to get, I've been out of the stereo game for about 3 years and have no clue

Depends on exactly the type of enclosure you plan to use. If sealed, then a simple amp with matching rms and a decent crossover will do fine. If ported, then your going to need a amp with a subsonic filter to protect it.
That sub handles 300 continuous watts in the proper box so it shouldn't be hard to find one it's range (250-350 rms). It is a single 4 ohm voice coil, correct? Xmax around about 8mm. A class D amp would suffice if you can get one that has about that rating into a 4 ohm load assuming your not running a pair. However, it would be less expensive to run a bridged 2 channel amp when only running one since you won't have to pay for the extra power into a 2 ohm load that you won't be runnning.
There are a rare few that have the same output regardless of ohm load, but they are rather expensive IMO.
Suggestions are limited to what are the plans for this sub. Your reply?

If you have the budget, JL's 250/1 is a Class D amp that can deliver a solid 250 RMS + @ 1.5 - 4.0 ohms. PG's Xenon Class D amps have a similar feature too. The JL amp is easy to find. The PG Xenon will be harder to find, but more power and a lower price. E-Bay would be your best bet. Look for:
JL Slash series: 250/1 or the Phoenix Gold Xenon X400.1

Well I play alot of hockey and hardball so I was gonna keep it simple with just the one 12 and an enclosed box. I don't have alot of room in my trunk i drive an 04 tiburon and need room for all my sports Equipment. Any ideas of what to do.

Well that depends on your budget as well as do you think you might want to upgrade or try any other subs.....
Like mentioned before, that sub won't be hard to an amp for.
