I have two woofer enclosures @ 60w rms each and a 600w power amp. I know I need speaker wire, but what else do I need? I think I need a fuse and a fuse block coming from the battery, but I don't know what the amperage for the fuse should be. Also, will 16guage wire be good? Also, totally unrelated to the questions above: I got the amp secondhand so it's missing some things and I was wondering where I could get them. I need the screw things that hold in the speaker wires and something called an REM wire or something like that. I'm not sure what that's for, so if you could help me with that, I'd appreciate it. I'm a noob and could use all the help I can get. Just take one good one out and go to the store and ask them to match it. Note: It needs to be the same gage size, thread pitch and length. In many cases, metric screws are used if the amp was make off shore. If made in the USA, it could be metric or SAE. Swez rav3nkirbyc on 07/16/2007 14:58:19 thanks guys. one more question, though. what kind of switch should i get for the remote switch? do i need a special one or will one i can get at a hardware store be fine? i have a stock head unit, but i'm probably going to get a new, aftermarket one sometime soon. swez on 07/16/2007 16:27:37 A standard SPST, (Single Pole Single Throw) switch is fine. You can get them at any hardware or autoparts store. In this case, it does not matter what the voltage or current rating is. We are dealing with 12 volts and less then 1A of current here. A #18 gage line is plenty. If you are planning to buy a new HU sooner than later, make sure it has the REMote feature and RCA outs to meet you present and future needs.
