well i am not sure what this post would be classifed as...i have been studying ,when i have the time, all of these equations and such on what and how to build these super spl/sql boxes and i guess i have been pretty blinded to the respect side of these things(well not too badly, never past 7:30, unless i am out on the hi-way) until recently that is, my young neighbor recently got a system for his already annoying lawn mower exhausted honda, pointless i think but who am i?anywho nightly he makes trips to god knows where with his stuff pumping for all gods green earth to be bothered by and generaly 5 or 6 times a night. so what i am getting at is... i think i am gonna invest in some shakers and maybe a walker of some sort LOL. i dunno but please all you mad bumper,i give respect cause i too like to vibrate my car to shreds ,but think of those around you and show some consideration at late night hours.HAPPY Replies (5) kirchatndftbl on 06/21/2007 00:30:05 i always turn it off after 9 when im in neighborhoods cuz i hate when people play it loud at night swez can probably give you advice about this since he used to have that problem if i remember right ShootuhMcBustaCap on 06/21/2007 01:03:18 Thats why I like my system, I really can't be heard outside the car with windows up. Good old low powered amps...... Maybe I am young and immature, but when I hear bass at any time day or night, I like it. Especially my next door neighbor, because I dialed in his system, and he listens to the same tunes, its like hearing how well I did my work every time. I do end up being careful myself, as a noise ordinace ticket runs a nice 1800 dollars in my city, and I have some suspicious neibhors, and even though my rig is ghetto, I want to keep it as my rig. Theft sux..... swez on 06/21/2007 08:52:23 Consider having a friendly chat with this loud & lousy neighbor. Just explain to him that it very annoying to most people to hear a bumper/thumper car whizzing up and down the streets after dark. Also, remind him that there are noise ordinances in most communities and if the neighbors get fed up and call the police, he'll eventually get a visit from the local "men in blue" and perhaps a hefty fine for said behavior. If he ignores your warnings, don't be too patient and just file an annon complaint. Sooner or later, he'll get "THE WORD" and all your neighbors will benefit too. Sadly, some idiots don't get the message until their bad behavior creates an, "Cash Out Of Pocket" experience. Fines are usually progressive too. If he gets a few of them, he'll get the message loud and clear. Swez louisypher on 06/21/2007 09:53:46 will look into it (the law) neighbors seem to feel he is above the rest of the neighborhood so talking will result in a baseball bat sandwich for the young scalywag. an if no law, i dont wanna ruin it for the responsible ones ,ya know?but ya he knows i dont like that side of the street, as i overheard him ask his girlfreind if she wanted to see him get his butt kicked real quick as he walks past me in a store.but come on i'm old enough to know fighting hurts and jail sux. on a different subject anyone ever used buttkicker shakers? found some pretty cheap on e-bay an wonder if u can use a regular amp to power them. as always i am indebted to this site and those from it, thanks !have a great day!!!SMILE swez on 06/21/2007 19:07:45 Consider this, if you are pretty sure you are on good terms with your neighbors... Draw up a petition and see how many other neighbors feel the same as you do and ask them to sign it. If you have a block of 10-20 families and they are annoyed or fed up Junior's bad behavior too, they will sign it and then present it to the local police along with his name, Lic plate # and a description of his bumper/thumper car. They'll take it from there. Aura makes the Bass Shaker and Bass Shaker Pro for car & HT apps. These are low frequency power transducers that usually mount on the floor, under the seats. The Pro series handle 50 watts RMS, 4 ohms and operate between 20-80 Hz. They don't emit much in the way of audible tones, but created bass vibrations that one feels inside the car like they have some decent SPL subs, w/o the added space. Basically, they look like a horn driver magnet and voice coil assy w/o the horn flare. They use a pressure diaphram tranducer to produce bass waves from amped audio signal. To get the full effect, they need to be amped. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=299-028&raid=1&rak=Aura-Bass-Shakers Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
