i live i a small city with only two local car audio shop who are not hiring but i'd like to get certified to install car electronics any suggestions? Replies (11) swez on 06/13/2007 09:46:10 If you really want to get into this biz, offer them some free time as an assistant to the installers and learn via on the job training. If they like your work and attitude, they may eventually hire you and help you get your certs too. Good luck, Swez PS Certs are nice to have on the wall. However, skilled hands and a sharp mind are better. So are taking detailed pics of your work and documenting the steps in short paragraphs. The pics speak volumes while the words only clarify where to look. gudoxa on 06/13/2007 14:42:07 thanks swez ps once i set a pay pal account i will be donating(and few extra bucks) everyone here has been so helpful to me gudoxa on 06/13/2007 15:10:51 i talked to mobile effects(one of our local shops) and the are considering it swez on 06/13/2007 17:39:20 You can send a check or cash directly to Walter Hargrave if you like. I live in the western burbs of Detroit and may be able to research the program and give you some key informantion about the school, before you take the plunge. Swez jamesp on 06/14/2007 07:52:06 Gudoxa, the current issue of Car Audio and Electronics has an article about starting your owm car audio business. It has a few valid points in it. Mainly about capital. Most new businesses fail in the first 2 years because they are UNDER capitalized to cover expenses long enough to see operation in the black.( run out of money before you start making a profit.)
