I'm trying to locate the stock amplifier in my 1996 Dodge 1500 truck. Nobody seems to know where it is but they all say it has one. Can anybody help me?SAD

Wait for one of our Pro Installers to answer. If you have the Premium Infinity Audio system in this truck, it is amped.
I cannot say for sure, but some are installed in the dash, over on the passenger side behind the bolsters or behind the glove box. Another option is often behind the rear side panels. If your truck has rear seats, it may be under there or behind the rear seats, on the back wall.
The best way to find out... go talk to a good car audio shop installer that knows this truck well. He'll know exactly where it is and how to access it.

go to your local parts store. Chilton's has a complete breakdown of your vehicle in the form of a repair manual. $20 cost...tells you about where everything is, how to get it apart, etc.

Many larger libraries also have manuals for common cars and you may find that detail in a library.
Also, consider searching forums that relate to Ram trucks and see if any guys have the specifics on what you need in their forum.
