Moved Rear Speakers

We'll I wanted to try moving the 6.5 Diamonds I had in the pods to the doors to open up more space for a bigger box/sub etc.

When I originally sound deadened the truck I took out the stock speakers that were 4x8s. Being the fact that ther was going to be more work involved I just left the space empty but kept the stock mounting brackets that bolted to the door and used them as a template to make my own.

I had to modify the door panel some to give the speakers some clearance to to get them to fit in good but the work was worth it.

Heres the pics.

Next project is rebuild the kick panels or totally take them out. Not sure yet. Either way tomorrow I'm throwing in the ported enclosure thats tuned to 36hz.

I was going to make pods for the doors, glassed the panels so their ready if I want to, but wanted to try this first since there wasnt really a chance of ruining the door panel lol.

Thanks Drew.

The easiest way to do mounting rings is with a plunge router and a circle jig. I''ve got a really nice Dewalt router and two Jasper circle cutting jigs so I can cut holes from 1" to 18"". You can do it with a jig saw but go really slow so you have solid control of the wood and the mdf. When I use to cut circles 80% of the time I would hold the jig saw in one location and actually rotate the wood around through the blade as to keep my fingers away from the blade and made for a uniform cut.

i had a tricky cut because it was a 5.25 ring (for a door modified door stock with 4s) and i had to trim it, it was flimsy and i had it calmped as much as possible...
eh.
it happens
