What size fuse and gauge wire would I use between my alt (MAXX 200 amp). Replies (4) swez on 05/20/2007 13:45:54 A 200 amp ANL fuse would be great. You will also need an ANL type fuse holder as well. (Typically 1/0 gage wire) http://www.antonline.com/p_63110-NX_270190.htm (200A ANL fuse) http://www.antonline.com/p_EWFH-NX_272791.htm (Fuse Holder) Swez Jo7Gle on 05/20/2007 13:56:53 I have a extra 250 ANl layin around. would it work ok. swez on 05/20/2007 16:33:19 The fuse rating is based on wire gage used and the anticipated MAX current draw of a given circuit. If you do use the Maxx 200 ALT, I'd feel safer using a 200A fuse to protect the investment. A 1/0 gage wire is able to handle about 300 A's of current. If using a slammer gage wire here, use a fuse that will protect your wires from fire. Swez Jo7Gle on 05/20/2007 17:00:52 Ok thanks swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
