I just tried replacing the front speakers in a 95 Mustang. The passenger side went fine, but the driver side speakers won't work. What could have gone wrong. I put in new Infinity speakers so I'm pretty sure I didn't blow the speakers themselves. I'm guessing that its either the head unit or a wiring problem. Which is more likely? Replies (4) swez on 05/12/2007 18:22:01 Which Infinity speakers did you use here Cobra? (Model #) Also, did the original door speaker work before installing these Infinity's? Does this Mustang have the Mach 460 Series system in it? Please say more as this could be very simple or a bit more challenging, depending on your answers. Swez UKinstaller on 05/12/2007 19:25:01 probably a wiring issue. if it has a mach system, amplifier could be bad, very easy to bypass though. check the wiring at the radio and make sure the white and white/black wires coming out of it are hooked up. also, try another speaker to make sure the one you are using is good. and finally, it could be a break in the wire somewhere in the car, fords are notorious for having speaker wires break in the door boots. -UK jamesp on 05/12/2007 23:17:23 If you installed 2 Ohm Infinity speakers on a factory HU could that cause a problem? Just curious... swez on 05/13/2007 06:11:43 That's what I was hoping to figure out too. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
