I have tried a usb thumb drive an alto a sandisk micro sd adapter that I couldn't get my computer to read. soundvox sx-8802usb Replies (3) swez on 05/5/2007 09:08:29 Do you have the software that can be installed into your computer to help configure and recognize this device? If not, may have to track it down off a Google search and download that file before you get connectivity. Swez verdelet on 05/6/2007 02:27:11 Manual on the stereo states that it's plug and and play, but it still didn't work. i also tries the micro sd,on my computer with a card reader, but i wasn't able to access the card. Pinch on 05/9/2007 19:47:58 Many new stereos are designed with "connectivity" in mind; that is...the manufacturers want you to be able to connect lots of gadgets (ie USB thumb drives, Bluetooth capable cell-phones, iPods, etc) to them. So in theory you should have an easy time playing music from a number of devices on your new headunit. The thing is there is no universal format for digital music yet. Instead, iTunes uses AAC while Zune uses WMA, others use MP3, and still others use ATRAC. If your Soundvox stereo reads MP3/WMA files (which it seems like it does), make sure you are loading your thumb-drive/mp3 player/portable music device with actual MP3/WMA formatted files. The kicker is they cannot be protected MP3/WMA files (like the ones you get from sites like Napster). Try ripping some MP3 files from a CD you own, and load those files onto your thumb drive and see what happens. Peace, Pinch Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
