hi, I'm a noob here and I don't know much about cars other than how to drive them. I recently brought a Nissan Altima 95' (used), and I'm trying to get the car stereo working. The problem that I have is 1. the BOSE audio control board (I don't know what its called) doesn't show the screening. 2. there is very little voice. I have already turned the volume to the max, but only a single speaker in the back shows a bit of music when I put in a CD, and I mean a BIT music, you cannot hear it unless you are isolated from any other noise, includes the engine sounds (I have to roll up the windows). Like I said, I have no idea what i'm gonna do next, and I'm afraid of going to the car shop as they'll very likely recommend me to paid money for parts that I wouldn't know about. So I want to asks some expert before doing anything... If anyone would help me, I would apprieciated very much. It can be done in stages so the bite on the wallet is spread out as cash flow permits. This is a nice car and if you plan to drive it for 3-5 years, why not consider investing in some good audio gear while you enjoy your drive? I would tend to agree with TLoud here. It might well be the previous owner took out the factory HU, installed some other gear and may have blown a few speakers in the process. If these are stock factory speakers, 10 years is enough to wear them out. (Very cheap speakers are used, even in "Premium Audio" packages. Say more about what you would like to have at the end of the project and we can show you some options, give some helpful hints and help you build a great sounding system in time.
