was surfing around looking at custom enclosures when i came across this site....these guys claim to make small subs have big sound..... http://www.subsolutions.com/ Replies (2) cplkittle on 04/26/2007 01:50:18 never heard of them... probably overrated, but I can't say. It goes against the laws of physics though.. the smaller the box, the longer the port. To tune a 1cuft box to 32Hz takes about a 24" long port if it is a small port, some of the ones pictured had about a 2"x4" slot port. Kinda hard to imagine they could do well on lows. Victor on 04/26/2007 04:00:13 never heard of them either.. but looking at the products , its something that is not impossible to achieve... those enclosures range from 0.6 to 0.75 cuft... for an enclosure this small the ports shall be definitely small too.. the specs of the driver used are way different than those used in regular car audio.... smaller drivers means less air moving... means smaller ports can perform well without or with very less port noise.... definitely wont be ground shaking bass.. most of them are 4th or quasi 6th order bandpass .. means just a limited band of frequencies reproduced very efficiently.... definitely a good way to go for people who wanna fill in the lows, dont wanna sacrifice space and are not too keen on listening to head aching kinda bass... in theory and practically this is possible.. but how far do these people calculate precise enclosure dimensions and the quality of fabrication is something i cant comment on until i actually see these small wonders perform...
