10's and 12's

I've got a whole bunch of extra eq lying around and im trying to make my system better.. i was wondering if i added two 10" subs with another amp to my two 12's would this be a smart idea.. the only concern i have is that the 10's will drowned out the 12's and i will not get the nice deep sound that i want.. if someone could shed some light on this for me i'd apreciate it :P

these topics come up on web searches too.
It is nor recommended to mix sub sizes unless you have the ability to crossover the frequencies so that they do not overlap. It is also recommended to put the bigger sub in a ported box and the smaller in a sealed. There are alot of things to discuss before you just throw them in the car.

It may sound louder just tossing them in a box and putting them in your car, but alot of the frequencies could be cancelled out if you don't do it right.

well my only other option is to toss in a third 12" sub.. but i dont think that my amp will have enough to power all 3.. and i have another amp lying around if that would help.. srry i keep buggin u :P but im new to this as u can tell

not a prob. ask as many questions as you want.
what are the model numbers and voice coil config?
also what are the model numbers on the amplifiers?
