D- PULSE amplifier help needed

Hi all. this is my first post here, and I am in need of help.
I have installed a D Pulse DPA6200 6 channel amplifier, and have some issue with the inputs and outputs and am hoping someone might be able to help me out.
Mt head unit has thre pre-amp outs ( front / rear/ sub)
the installation manual for the amp lists the inputs as follows:
top row of RCA inputs ( left to right):
1/ MAIN LEFT LINE INPUT
2/ SURROUND LEFT LINE INPUT
3/ SUBWOOFER LEFT LINE INPUT

bottom row of RCA inputs ( left to right)
1/ REAR MAIN RIGHT LINE INPUT
2/ REAR SURROUND RIGHT LINE INPUT
3/ CENTER LINE INPUT

on the opposite side of the a mp, what I would expect to see as speaker cable outputs are noted as follows:
top row (left to right:

1/2/3/4: MAIN LEFT / RIGHT SPEAKERS
5/6: WOOFER SPEAKERS

bottom row ( left to right )
1/2/3/4: SURROUND RIGHT /LEFT SPEAKERS
5/6 :CENTER SPEAKERS.

my question is a basic one... which inputs from my front/ rear/ subs, go to which inputs, and which outward connections do in connect my front / rear/ sub speaker cable to??
hears hoping.

thanks in advance

peter

Welcome to the forum!!

I can not find any information on this amplifier on the internet, but you gave alot of good information.
It is written like a home amplifier, with a little lost in translation.
It is setup like a dolby 5.1 amplifier.

basically you have front left and front right input (main left line and rear main right line)

your surround left and right line will be the rear left and rear right.

The center channel you will not use as you do not have a dolby 5.1 processor. There is only one sub RCA input and one sub output. You can use a RCA 'y' adapter to mix both channels if you want (2 female to 1 male)

ahh...ok, lokks like I have bought something slightly odd for a standard car set up. that's what you get when you don't know what your doing. Anyway...I that does put a different light on things and answers a lot of questions. one thing though, I have 2 Sub woofers.....do you see a huge problem combining the 2 and connecting then all in to the single Sub out ( I will use the Y adaptor for the input) the output power for the sub according to the booklet is 400W @4Ohm RMS or 210W @4Ohm MAX

Toniw118, check the manual as the RMS and Max Watt numbers at 4 Ohms dont really add up. Maybe it is 210W RMS at 4 Ohms and 400W RMS at 2 Ohms???That would make more sense.

Where can one find this brand amplifier. It might be very nice if you have a Dolby 5.1 head unit.
The DPA-7200 looks like a mobile disco, party unit and the internals look very robust. The 7200 is not a 12 volt amp but here is a link

this is all I can find on it:

guess it should work just fine as a standard car audio set up...do think there WOULD be an issue in running both subs from one output?...it's has taken a long time and great effort to get as far as I have so far, and I would hate to think it won't do the job..:(

its Danish, I like it already... My last name is one of the most common in Denmark...

it will depend on the subs that you run. It can run as many subs as we want it to as long as we wire it correctly. What is the impedence of the subs(ohms) and are they single or dual voice coil speakers?

Smoke & a pancake? bong & a blintz?

or is that not danish :-)

thats a pretty crazy amp there....wonder what the price on that thing was..(care to give that away?)

toniw118 on 04/26/2007 03:44:26
well...it was a Ebay purchase. for around £50.00..no idead what price it would be new..this was used.
there was no mention of the '5.1 surround' issue when i bought it. so I am glad i posted this , although I wish i had bought something a little more straight forwards as I am a newbie to this.....
as far as the sub's are concerned. can't tell you at the moment what the impedence or coil type they are..but. if i want to run both subs, I only really have one option as far as I can see( as there only seems to be one sub output according to replies to my first post) and that is to simply run both subs from the single output connector....unless anyone can give me any better suggestions or options...???...thanks to everyone so far...
