http://www.startribune.com/535/story/1140542.html "Oh, what a feeling!" #1 in the world! And to think 20 yrs ago people mocked making highly reliable, modest vehicles that get great mileage, have excellent features, and don't offer excessive warranties or financing gimmics would become #1!! Too bad GM didn't listen to H.Ross Perot. Someone did...and they didn't even pay him USFLAG Replies (2) swez on 04/24/2007 14:28:30 Note the statement on employee loyalty that Toyota has boasted for many years. That also plays well with buyers as they often become loyal after the quality, service intervals, reliablity and gas mileage. GM has done just the opposite for many years and now are reaping the bad harvest and bad seed is still being sewn. How many laid-off/buyout GM workers will switch to the better made Imports? They will have the last laugh, even if they are broke and in the poor house because of GM's short-sightedness? Sad... very sad... but Automotive Corporate America is digging its own grave. Swez cplkittle on 04/24/2007 21:33:00 Very interesting. Kaizen - "Kai" means to change and "zen" meaning good refers to a technique that I see in alot of Japanese production industries. Any production worker can stop the production line at any time and point out a problem or a better way of doing something. I read this on a TV screen in a Nissan plant last week. Here is the news article on it. US: Toyota names first American to head design unit. http://www.just-auto.com/article.aspx?id=91060 Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
