okay so i posted a topic about a wiring harness issue that i had with my car which is a 2002 olds alero and they said that i could of just use a 2000 chevy tracker harness and that it should work fine except for the fact that i lose my door chime which i can live without well anyway i got the harness and i tried hooking it up but it wouldnt work it fit in fine and everything but when i hooked all the wires up and hooked up the new headunit its motor would run inside for like 3 sec. and then turn off but there was no image on the screen or lighting and when you pushed the open button it would open and then close but after you did that once it wouldnt do it again i really need help on wiring this. my headunit is a clarion DXZ845MC

sounds like you don't have any power to your ignition wire on the radio. try twisting the red and yellow wires of your aftermarket radio harness together and running them to whatever the yellow is currently running to. if that fixes the problem, you need to run a wire from the ignition harness, which is about 6 inches to the left of the radio in that car. there will be a really thick orange wire, run a wire from there to the red wire of the radio harness and that should do it.

there is no ignition wire in the 2002 alero factory harness, you will have to run one to make this work right.

one last thing is the thick orange wire wrapped together with other wires and thanks for the help i really apreciate it.

the thick orange should be with other wires the same size including pink, brown, white, and I think red and yellow.
