Replies (18) 30Hertz on 04/13/2007 23:50:24 Havent heard of the Alpine MRP M450. I own the Alpine MRV F450 5 channel. Got a link to the amplifier? trunkisloud on 04/13/2007 23:53:42 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-xQTsYzPbKX4/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=500MRPM450&s=0&cc=01 had the model number wrong trunkisloud on 04/13/2007 23:58:41 heres a better link http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=16411 30Hertz on 04/14/2007 00:00:00 Don't really have experience with that model amplifier so cant really tell ya if it was a good deal =) However, that seems like a really low price for shipping. Did the seller have pictures of the amplifier? Or say it was in good mechanical condition? I generally double check and ask to make sure its not going to be DOA (Dead on Arrival) and if they will guarantee it =). That way if it is, I have documentation. Sounds like a good deal =) trunkisloud on 04/14/2007 00:01:42 has moneyback guarantee.....has pics ...assured me that it works.... swez on 04/14/2007 07:41:32 Yeah, that's been a pretty solid series for Alpine for some time now. They still sell them too, but price errosion has helped to bring retail prices down and if used, half the price of new is always a good deal when its in good working order. Swez ShootuhMcBustaCap on 04/14/2007 09:46:32 Dude Nice Score!!!! My brother runs the 450 in his car. It makes me jealous........ He paid nearly $200 dollars for his. Howdid you score such good shipping?? jamesp on 04/14/2007 09:58:30 All of these internet sellers are inflating the crap out of shipping prices and for a heavy sub, the shipping actually may cost 20 or so dollars. An amplifier of average size shipped UPS ground across the country is about 13.00. My RF 450.4 amp came to Georgia from Arizona from an audio lab and the actual shipping was less than 10 bucks. These discount sellers may have a low ball price on an amp but the $34.99 shipping price contains much of the profit margin in the item. If you buy an amp from an individual on ebay and they charge actual shipping it isnt much money. ShootuhMcBustaCap on 04/14/2007 10:06:56 Yeah, I bought a butterfly knife for literally 2 cents off ebay. I paid $10 for shipping. It said like 2$ or something on the package. It was a while back though. But when something is won on an action for 2 cents, which the steel weight on the blade is probably worth at least 4, I honestly don't blame the guy for inflating that $7 or so he made. He isn't running a charity, has his own costs, and has to insure himself form a 2 cent bid instead of a $2 "buy it now" I was stil happy with the purchase. Even though the chrome was fakish and the grip broke in a dangerous way, the same knife of a lesser finish sells at the local knife shop for like $30. Not complaining at all. 30Hertz on 04/14/2007 11:20:41 It depends. When I shipped my 15" XXX (sub weighs in the range of 65-75lbs) from Cali to Md it cost just under $60. Sucks! swez on 04/14/2007 14:55:59 Yep, count all the costs. Sometimes a higher price at a local dealer or shop is the better deal after we figure in S/H, Ins and the wait time to get it. There are many good e-bay sellers out there who do a great job of packaging, listing the product well and delivery in under 5 days. However, he/she has to package it, take it to the post office, UPS or Fed-X unless they have pick services in the area. All this is time and money they eat when a low ball bid comes in. There's this retired gentleman I have purchased things from a few times now. (Fishing gear) He is a perfect e-bay seller. Excellent web site, accurate product notations, adequate pictures, some expert commentary on the product and very fair prices too. His shipping is a tad higher than some other guys that sell the same things. But I don't mind a small S/H premium as it is delivered quickly, very well packed and he includes a business card with each order if a seller needs to speak/write or e-mail him about a question or such. Knowing he's been an avid fisherman for over 40 years and often tests his products before he buys a large lot, tells me he is very serious about his business and has a passion for the things he is doing. It doesn't get any better than that and I'll gladly pay a reasonable premium for the extra care and service he provides. Swez ShootuhMcBustaCap on 04/14/2007 23:53:26 Exactly. I am always happy to pay a little extra for excellent servce/knowledge of product. trunkisloud on 04/15/2007 00:10:10 ive got a few other bids ending soon that look promising...such as a PIONEER GM-43A this thing is brand new in the box and its way old school...current bid 21 dollars ...end time ..21 hours.... fingers are crossed ShootuhMcBustaCap on 04/15/2007 00:45:14 Right on! best of luck to you. cplkittle on 04/15/2007 02:41:58 you have to watch the shipping prices on ebay.. I got stuck with a $40 shipping on a d6 300.2 amplifier (12"x12"x3" &~8#) Shipping was 'unspecified' Alot of sellers use the 1 or 2 penny buy it now or low bid and high shipping to avoid the fees. Ebay charges fees based on the sale price, not the shipping.. If you sell for less than 50 cents, your sales fees are only a penny reguardless of the $40-$50 shipping charge. trunkisloud on 04/15/2007 06:57:10 i wont buy anything with more than $15 shipping...thats the rule... swez on 04/15/2007 09:35:34 Don't buy a hefty sub on line then. To get the shipping cost of a 40-60 lb sub down to that range might be next to impossible. Even if it came on a slow boat from Panang China, getting inland would still be expensive. LOL My last flyrod was $14.00 S/H via USPS. It came in 3 days, weighed about 2 lbs and was expertly packaged. I was very pleased to pay the extra few bucks for Ins and his fees. If the rod fails for "any reason", it's got a lifetime warranty from the seller and I kept the shipping box too. Now that is real value and a great find in my books. Has all the features, quality and performance of a $300 + rod, but at 1/3rd that price. Am well pleased with the whole deal and am now planning for another rig this season as well. Swez trunkisloud on 04/15/2007 20:07:14 yea so i lost the pioneer but i won the bazooka el1500....which is a pretty strong one...ive owned 2 of them in the past. ive got 3 hrs left on the autotek ss290.2.....once again fingers are crossed.
