Good day to all. Just wondering whats the difference between silk dome and textile dome tweeters. Which one puts out crispier sound? If for instance you had component speaker using silk dome tweeters and change them to textile ones, would you have to adjest the settings on your amp? Thanks and a happy easter to all! Textile domes are mixed bag, depending on their design and who made them. If either sounds a bit bright or dull and lifeless, a few minor adjustments with a good EQ (3KHz and up)can often overcome that. If one likes a very bright, crisp tweeters that comes on strong, use metal dome or MMD tweets as they cut through the bass and MB very well. If they are a tad too bright or come on harsh, a little attenuation via EQ can often overcome that too. Swez PS Happy Easter to you too friend! rldelrosario on 04/11/2007 06:31:25 Thanks again. swez on 04/11/2007 06:54:27 You are most welcome. Swez rldelrosario on 04/12/2007 05:14:54 Now i'm in a situation. My front separates are infinity 6010cs (with silk dome tweeters): http://www.crutchfield.com/S-AAR0D7egO6a/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=410&I=1086010CS&search=Infinity+VENDORID108&SearchDisplay=Infinity and i plan to upgrade my rear speakers (infinity 2 way) to infinity separates as well. Only thing is the available model is now the 6020cs (with textile dome tweeters): http://www.crutchfield.com/S-AAR0D7egO6a/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=410&I=1086020CS&search=Infinity+VENDORID108&SearchDisplay=Infinity so question now is will there be a difference in the sound of the tweets. Or, as you mentioned can adjustment on the amp make them sound the same. Victor on 04/12/2007 06:38:33 The rear stage would be just a bit more bright than the front.. should'nt be an issue here.. textile dome tweets are not as bright as some metal dome tweets. they would be a nice balance between the silks and the metal based tweets.. those infinity comps have X-overs with adjustable slope Note: To reduce tweeter output level, connect the positive (+) tweeter wire to the –3dB terminal., this should be handy while adjusting tweets.. try to aim the tweets into the rear windscreen.... so that the sound bounces off the glass and spread indirectly and evenly,, this would help avoid beaming.. and the tweets wont sound as shrill compared to aiming the tweets straight into the listening area.. Victor.. swez on 04/12/2007 09:54:36 Right on reponse there Victor Swez rldelrosario on 04/12/2007 20:33:30 Thanks a lot guys. Atleast i feel at ease on going ahead with the upgrade. Again, thanks.
