If you heat the tape up with a hair drier, can peel it off with some effort that use some Acetone or rubbing alcohol....(finger nail polish remover to get the residue off. Then get some 3M 2 sided tape.

I would also reccomend a Bug And Tar remover, worked wonders for me when i had adhesive on my dash took it right off as well as a bunch of tar on my chrome grill and side view mirrors SMILE

Goof Off is very good for glue residue as well. Just be sure to test it in a out of the way spot first to ensure it does not damage your trim mouldings.

what kind of tape are you using? There really isn't a good tape to use as a tweeter mounted to a door gets alot of abuse being slammed all the time. That along with the heat of the summer means you will be replacing it all the time.

3m makes the best that I have seen. You could be better off just putting the screw in the carpeted part of the door and mounting the cup...
