ive never seen or heard one of these transmission lines in action....how big would it have to be for a 12" ....and is it possible to fit 2 of them in the trunk of a buick?? and would it be worth the effort? Replies (4) cplkittle on 04/5/2007 09:05:15 In my opinion, they were not designed for vehicles. I have built 2 so far. One for a van and one I tested out in my kia. I was not too happy with either one. In the van I got some good lows, it was more of a filler type bass, there was no accuracy, just a low rumble when there was supposed to be bass. It was smooth and warm, but not accurate. In the kia it sounded like ass. Never tried a trunk. ShootuhMcBustaCap on 04/5/2007 09:52:46 I read the article you wrote on them, and it all sounded so damn complicated that I could barely make sence of it. Then again, I was also eating a chimi........ cplkittle on 04/5/2007 21:59:58 eat a few more chimichangas and it will all make sense. or atleast it will appear to. 30Hertz on 04/6/2007 19:38:15 To understand a TL, your pretty much have to have a very solid base on Speaker Design (theil small parameters), enclosure design and wavelengths. I've heard a few in my time and thought they were pretty damn cool. Personally, I want to build a horn but dont have the time. For my home audio I'm most likely going with a TL.
