Looks pretty nice overall. Are you running a second amp for high/mids? I didn't see it. newB on 03/23/2007 01:49:55 yeah its a DHD Power Crusier 200+200max 2ch pushing all 4 coaxials you can see it in 2 of the 3 pix showing the blue mold and 12s. you cant see the wires. cuz thats how i roll -Drew ShootuhMcBustaCap on 03/23/2007 10:14:14 Word, I did see that, But I thought it was the sub amp. I guess it would help is I wasn't blind as a bat half the time. I would run my wires completely concealed, but my parents still have my rides title in their name, and they barely take to the fact I have a system, let alone the idea of the drilling, cutting, fabricating and dismantling involved with seting it up how I want it. In fact, They pretty much are pissed that I went this far in my install. I did reroute several of my wires though when I hooked up my upper range amp amd moved the house "speakers." Looks much better now. I plan to redo virtually all of the system when I pay the car off...... newB on 03/23/2007 18:48:40 nice man make sure you drop us some sweet pix! are you the only one that reads this?? lol -Drew ShootuhMcBustaCap on 03/24/2007 05:27:32 I spend too much time on CK, and as of yet it has been prettyu dead. I always like to follow other's posts and installs to get good ideas and overall brainfood. Definitely have more time than money, I lately have been reading much as much as possible, as opposed to hands on work, to learn as I want to take my MECP test soon. How hard was that glass work? was it your first? I just wanna get a gauge on cost/learning curve. New pix coming soon, but my brothers' digicam is outta state right now, and the weather here has sucked last few days. newB on 03/24/2007 14:20:48 i've dabbled.... its my 3rd attempt. and the first two looked like poo this is the first time i "stretched" the fiberglass to try and get it more contoured. aslo my first attempt at building a "mold" instead of it staying in the car. that way when i add layers and sand smooth i can do it somewhere besides my back seat! it costs me less than 20$ for a sheet of fabric and resin from home depot. and you dont get any better till you try! -Drew cplkittle on 03/24/2007 15:16:13 You should have seen my first attmept. The one thing that will help more than anything is a right angle air grinder with a 50 grit wheel on it. I think they are like $50, maybe cheaper. Make sure you wear a mask, fiberglass is just as bad as asbestos for your lungs. THe air sander/grinder will cut through the resin really well, and will make short work of filler or bondo. ShootuhMcBustaCap on 03/25/2007 10:47:41 Word. I had no Idea it was so cheap. I want to build custom door panels for the whip instead of replacong that busted crap, or build some sort ogcustom dash topper Ican mount some stuff in or both. who really knows how much stuff they wanna do to their rides anyway! I had no idea at first......... The sander might actually be possible, because if i'm not mistaken, I have a working compressor in storage. Fiberglass does suck though, I have done more than enough insulation in housesto figure that one out. Kinda why I haven't dabbled yet. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
