Prev :: Next My previous CD deck was ripped out by a thief. I was installing a Pioneer DEH-P3900M in a jeep wrangler today and i ran into some trouble. The unit powers on and I can hear the speakers pop briefly but then no sound will come out. Replies (7) cplkittle on 03/14/2007 19:58:17 did you use a wiring harness, or just splice into the factory wires? Is the radio staying on? Is the radio new or used? opie on 03/14/2007 20:05:10 The jeep didn't have a harness connected to it. I think when they ripped the unit out they took the old harness, so I spliced the factory wires into the wiring harness that came with the new head unit. The unit is brand new and stays on cplkittle on 03/14/2007 20:17:29 where did you get the wiring information and is it the same as this? first color + second color - left front = green - brn/red right front = purple - blue left rear = brn/yel - brn/lt blu right rear = blu/wht - blu/pnk you didn't connect all the ground wires together did you? opie on 03/14/2007 21:36:16 http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/Jeep/PDF/533009.pdf There is a ground wire that was already installed in the jeep(black/yellow) and is currently connected to the ground coming from the HU. A remote wire that is blue is connected to a blue wire on the harness. cplkittle on 03/14/2007 22:01:59 ok.... The next thing I would try is to disconnect the radio speaker wires and connect them one at a time to a test speaker. This will isolate the problem to either the radio or the vehicle. anyone else have any ideas? opie on 03/14/2007 22:40:43 alright. i'll give that a try tomorrow and check back in with y'all if i haven't had any luck. thanks for the tip ttocs on 03/14/2007 23:04:05 do you know if the jeep has an infinity system in it?
