Trouble....no sound

My previous CD deck was ripped out by a thief. I was installing a Pioneer DEH-P3900M in a jeep wrangler today and i ran into some trouble. The unit powers on and I can hear the speakers pop briefly but then no sound will come out.

did you use a wiring harness, or just splice into the factory wires?
Is the radio staying on?
Is the radio new or used?

The jeep didn't have a harness connected to it. I think when they ripped the unit out they took the old harness, so I spliced the factory wires into the wiring harness that came with the new head unit.

The unit is brand new and stays on

where did you get the wiring information and is it the same as this?
first color +
second color -
left front = green - brn/red
right front = purple - blue
left rear = brn/yel - brn/lt blu
right rear = blu/wht - blu/pnk

you didn't connect all the ground wires together did you?

There is a ground wire that was already installed in the jeep(black/yellow) and is currently connected to the ground coming from the HU. A remote wire that is blue is connected to a blue wire on the harness.

ok....
The next thing I would try is to disconnect the radio speaker wires and connect them one at a time to a test speaker. This will isolate the problem to either the radio or the vehicle.

anyone else have any ideas?
