Welcome to CK kreg....

CK has always motivated DIY'ers and always pressed on doing it yourself rather than going to installers. most of them dont know what they are doing, and the rest who know about car audio run more behind money rather than doing up a good system.

Fibreglass has been in since long, but since its too messy to work with not a lot people choose this medium.. altho its a versatile medium and a person who knows a bit of designing, who knows a bit of car audio and who has the ability to do a neat job can do wonders in fibreglass..

I have a fibreglass accessories manufacturing unit where we manufacture, speaker trays, door pods, kick pods, woofer enclosures, a/b pillar tweeter mounts etc.We sell these in the brand name of * Sound Stage *., * XmaX* . altho this is on a larger scale and we work with casts & moulds for mass production.

It woudl be great if you share your experience, with detailed explanations, a systematic procedure chart, list of tools required, hurdles u faced, how to overcome those hurdles, the final product, pictures of the full process and a summary..

We could even make this an FAQ or a permenant article for our readers on CK..

Once again welcome to CK, am sure it would be a worth while experience to be here, helping, teaching and most importantly learning.

thanxs for your input, i would be more than happy to go into detail with the whole prosess, i just finished a $7000CAN hatch install on mi friends 1996 camaro ill try and get digital pics of the whole thing, however, it is finished, so mabey a visual s-b-s would be much more helpfull to the first timer, i like your idea of a permenant artical, mabey i could email you a rough draft and have you arrange it in a format suitable for both the reader and the site

I've done many tutorials on the subject but without pictures, its pretty darn hard.
If I could upload pictures onto the site just for the tutorial section we could make some great DIY articles.

Nice to have someone else that understands the concepts behind fiberglass. Have you worked with molds or foam before?

i havent done much in the way of molds, befor, mass production u mean right? of course theres always the car itself that acts as mold, and from there u could make a negative mold for mass production.

the 2 part poly foam is an exellent material, especialy for situations where convex curves are required, such as a dash pad

PVC pipe is also a life saver when a specific radius is required, layers of glass/rez on the inside of the pipe cut lenght wise can easily be pulled out and placed concave inside an inclosure to eliminate standing waves, or used to join flat fibreglass panels such as a center console edge,

but yea... a picture is worth a thousand words , what would be even better is a video, no charge on my part, just sumthing users could download step buy step
