I Have 2 Pioneer Premier TS- 3004{s},2 Kicker 12L7{s}, A KX2500.1, KX850.2, And A KX600.1- Which Amp{s} And 2 Sub Combination Would Give Me The Best Sound Output In A 98 Expedition. I Only Want To Keep 2 Subs. I Am Not A Professional Like You All, So The Sub Boxes Are Still After Market Flea Market Boxes. If Possible Include How I Should Have The DVC Wired Up To Achieve Maximum Output. I Also Have A 5 Farad Cap If That Helps Any. Thank You In Advance. I Am Disgusted! (Don't panic though... you are in good hands here) "Shoulda, coulda, woulda's" don't matter right now. The hardest hitting subs are the L7's. Which voice coil configuration are these? (2+2 DVC's or 4+4 DVC's?) Knowing that, we can offer optimal enclosure recommedations and amping options. In the case of the L7's, enclosure dimensions are a big factor. Amping power is secondary. Fortunately, you have a large SUV with space for a large sealed or ported enclosure. Do you have a preference? Ported is larger and most able to deliber the deep lows. Say more about the Kicker subs you have now.. voice coil configuration primarily, and we'll try to map out the best SQL/SPL plan for you. Swez MRD2K5 on 03/3/2007 00:39:46 They Are 4+4{Sorry}. Do You Think They Are Better Than The 3004{s} I Have No Preference On Sealed Or Ported Just Dont Know How To Tune Them. swez on 03/3/2007 06:18:09 If you want maximum low bass and plenty of bump, the KX-2500.1 is your strongest option. This amp delivers >2000 watts RMS @ 2 ohms and the subs are rated at 750 RMS per each. http://www.kicker.com/06/tech-support/manuals/manuals/2005/KX2500.1Amplifiers.pdf Depending on the type of music you like best and how much thump you desire, sealed will give more tight bass and good lows. If you go ported, the deep low bass is even more present, depending on the enclosure size used. http://www.kicker.com/06/tech-support/manuals/manuals/04Solo%20Baric%20L7%20Subwoofer%20Manual.pdf Swez PS This amp is very strong and needs a hefty power supply to get every watt from it. However, the subs are rated at 750 RMS per sub. This amp can be adjusted via the gain control to deliver sufficient power, but not damage your subs. MRD2K5 on 03/3/2007 10:20:20 Ok The Pioneers Hz Are 18 Are You Telling Me I Can Get Deeper Bass Out Of The Kickers? swez on 03/3/2007 14:58:54 OK, I found the Pioneer sub specs and this p/n shows a 4+4 DVC, 12" sub with high efficiency and takes 1000 watts RMS per sub. These are more efficient that Kicker subs and you can get more SPL from them, for the wattage available on your noted amp options. A ported enclosure is the best option here. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/pe/images/portal/cit_11221/217888139TRD1263-A_UC.pdf The Kicker L7's are less efficient, but offer a larger cone area to radiate bass. They also like large ported enclosures. If you don't wish to give up so much space, the Pioneer's are a good option. As for amping either sub setup, The KX-2500.1 is still your best option here and powering a 4 ohm load. (~1500 watts RMS @ 4 ohms) That's each sub with coils wired in series, (8 ohms) and both sub wired in parallel to the amp. (Series/Parallel configuration) FYI: The Pioneer sub have a very low Fs. (18 Hz.) However, the usable frequency and still maintain good SPL is more like 30-35 Hz Port tuning. More later as I have to run for now, Swez MRD2K5 on 03/3/2007 15:49:04 Thanks for the info people. The more info the merrier. swez on 03/4/2007 17:48:10 Just keep your questions flowing and we'll try to answer them as best as possible. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
