What should you do if your Alpine CHm does not load the CDs? It all started when i put in scratched cd and now it won't load... it seems like there isn't enough power to load the Cd. What can i do?SAD

is it one CD, or every CD you put in the player?

Might be the laser in the player. Might have to send it in for repairs. Is it under warrenty?

nope, i got the cd player when i bought my car. It's a six cd changer. Any clue on how much it'll cost for repair?

99% of the time if a changer, nice aftermarket head unit, or other aftermarket item is left in a car when it is sold, it is going to have problems.
I would take the magazine out and make sure there is nothing spilled or sticky on it. Try unplugging it and plugging it back in with the magazine out. Insert the magazine and it should go through and check for CDs. (you will hear the mechanics).
I am assuming it worked before you put the scratched one in, is it connected to an alpine HU? If so, see if you can find a reset button on the HU (it will be a small button that can only be pressed with a toothpick or small pointed tool).

If all else fails, you could try taking it apart to see if there is anything broken inside that might could be repaired. A word of caution though - CD changers are the most aggravating things to disassemble. There are alot of springs and other mechanics that are hard to put back together. It will take alot of time, adequate table space, and some patience.

Would anyone know where the reset button is located?

I think that changer has a reset button on it. It will look like a pin hole similar to what you would see to eject a cd out of a cd ron drive.

what are the model numbers for the HU and the changer? If we can find a picture, that will help in locating the reset button.
