PL = 30 HERTZ? I can tell you this... 50 + Hurts too hee-haw Swez 30Hertz on 02/21/2007 21:00:47 Yah I had talked to Walt about chaing my SN a while back to match me better now and I cant log into that one now lol. Hopefully I can get this one squared away now cybersailor420 on 02/21/2007 21:38:45 A picture's worth a thousand words... http://tufts.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2018197&l=7dea6&id=1701198 The picture comments describe everything swez on 02/21/2007 21:45:22 I really like the way you mounted the front door 3-way Comps. Are they well balanced, that far up in the door panels? Those MTX woofers, what are they doing? I see Kickers in there for deep lows. Are the MTX lower MB type subs? Swez cybersailor420 on 02/21/2007 23:02:40 eh, it was all in there just b/c i had it all... i only have the kickers and the door speakers in now. I was using all 4 subs for lows, but it was only for the competition. In hind sight I should've just used the 15's, b/c I had a lot of cancelation, but at least it looked cool! And I got first place over all. The speakers on the front doors are actually just pyle mids and a power acoustik tweeter. They actually sound very good, especially for like $10-$15 per speaker. I just need a seperate crossover for the 6.5's and the 5.25's, b/c right now they're on the same bandpass crossover. I do have the tweeters turned down alot, since they are mounted so high. I like it alot. Victor on 02/22/2007 00:10:25 I dont have a car audio system :( .... got rid of everything, it was all ageing and sold it all off at good prices... am pondering over a good SQ system now.. by the way.. one thing i noticed about 2 setups here, 1st PL : i see you have moved from a SPL setup to a mor eSQ leaning setup now... 2nd: Cyber : all that you have dumper in your car is not required, a 151db count can even be reached with a single 12" sub. Victor... 30Hertz on 02/22/2007 16:56:46 Yah I'm not really doing the whole SPL thing much now. Don't have the time basically to travel to shows anymore and since I sold my fullsize truck I dont exactly have the space either haha. With the new Mini Truck I decided to go more SQ. I listen to a wide range of music and got tired of the bass overpowering the music so decided to back it off quite a bit. But I still plan to tinker around quite a bit and see what I can do with less equipment. I've got a buddy thats hitting 148's with a single 8" woofer on the TL with only 400watts to it. I'm gonna tinker around with my 8w7 and see what I can get just for fun. I still have the ability to go SPL in my truck If I really wanted to. It is an extended cab and the amplifiers, distrobution blocks and a couple of my crossovers are in the bed of the truck leaving me with the extended cab (as small as it is) open for whatever I feel like running. I had considered walling it with a single 15 or two 12's for a while or just going with a single 12" Fi BTL or 12" DD 9515 in an ported enclosure just for comps. I miss going to shows and draggin in the lanes. But, for now its SQ and I'm loving the clarity. I just need to finish everything and paint it before I do anything else. -PL cybersailor420 on 02/22/2007 20:11:17 yea, i know it is not necessary. like i said, it was just cool to look at. newB on 02/25/2007 03:38:41 this was my system that is now under construction. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e216/saxwonder05/140464365_459324758_0AA.jpg its all out right now, im building a 1.8cuft ported box and running the 4ich PVC throught the package tray under the back window. its comming along VERY nice, just some last measurements and jigsaw action, plus fiberglass and i should be good..... -Drew swez on 02/25/2007 12:02:53 A single 4" pipe will not allow much bass to pass through into the cabin. Depending on the length of this pipe, it will act like a tuned resonator as well. Only certain frequencies will pass through this pipe and others will be attenuated to some degree. A larger opening in the rear deck will allow more bass energy to pass into the main cabin. The trick is to make it look nice, pass plenty of bass waves and not disrupt the structural integrity of the parcel shelf. I take it you don't have a flip down seat arrangement for the rear seats? Comments? Swez MrBrownstone on 03/1/2007 23:33:31 My entire system is sitting in my closet. Although it is not gay, I can't wait for it to come out of the closet some day soon.
