Hi everyone, we have a 2006 Ford F-350 crewcab dually with factory alarm and lojack. Periodically the alarm beeps for no reason then approximately a hour later the horn will beep continuously. We do not know if it is the alarm, the horn itself or the lojack. At first we thought it was the steering wheel lock resting on the horn itself, but that's not the case. We never actually get it to stop by anything we do, it just sometimes stops, once it stopped by shutting the hood. Any suggestions or comments as a plan of action before we haul it to the dealer? Thank you. Replies (3) Norleonard on 02/16/2007 11:22:14 cplkittle on 02/16/2007 21:57:26 was the lojack recently installed? You say the alarm beeps for no reason, then the horn goes off. What all is on this truck? only the factory alarm and lojack? The door trigger wires rest at ground and go to open circuit when the doors are opened. If the lojack or any other alarm system presents a weak point or even a slight positive charge, it will make the factory alarm trigger. Also, the alarm beep followed by the horn sounding indicates the lojack trying to tell you something. I would look first at the connections on the lojack, or have it looked at by the installer. The other thing I would check is the door pins and the hood pin. ttocs on 02/18/2007 09:13:17 this isn't the factory alarm right? WHo put it in? The newer fords will send a pulse out on the door triggers occasionally. If the alarm was not installed properly with diodes to isolate these pulses the alarm will false on you.
