Swez.....You have mail.

Let me know if I can be of any help on here. I'd be glad to help out especially on Ford 150's. Lord knows we both have a lot of great info on installation processes.

Just chime right in when you see something that is being discussed or a key point that has been neglected.

Got your mail and replied as well.... Can you say spring fishing trip?

Oh, BTW... after your trip up here before, I liked your menthol smokes so much better, that I have since switched to menthols now too. As you may recall, I have been rolling my own smokes for over a year now.

In MI, we get a heavy tax hit on tabacco products. (about $2.75/pk taxes) A pack of quality smokes is about $5.00 a pack or $48.00 a carton. Rolling our own, allows one to choose the quality of the tobacco they prefer and are taxed at a different rate too. One can now roll a carton for about $10 - 15.00's. (Tobacco and filtered tubes)

Thanks for helping see the light. Now, if I could just quit these darn things, imagine the money I'd have for other things. (Not to mention the health issues)

Man, $5.00 a pack is robbery. I pay $2.75 for camels down here in georgia. $24 for a carton.

It's Jennifer Granholm baby. Just think when Hilary wins the election.

Hilary + Jennifer = White House pillow talk.

If she wins, I'm movin' to Australia.

That's what we pay here cplkittle. 25 bucs a carton. However, we do have public smoking ban ordinace in place. Can't even smoke in the public parks.

cplkittle on 02/12/2007 00:21:00
That's a violation of human rights.
You can't own a gun in Australia though.

I look foreward to the day when my island is built for me. It will be my own country.

Camels are just under $5.00 a pack here Kit. That's my preferred brand when buying off the shelf. But at these prices, I am now a RYO guy.

It takes about 20-25 minutes to roll a pack and that nets out to just under $1.00 a pack, (Inc. taxes and tubes) depending in the tobacco brand used. As a treat, will sometimes splurge and go with a fine shag tobacco like McClintock, Top or Zig-Zag. But for everyday rolls, I use RAVE. It's much better than Gambler and some of the other rough cuts I have tried before.

The keys to a good RYO smoke are:

- Quality tobaccos
- Good paper tubes
- A good injector
- Cut of tobacco (particle size after prep)
- Mositure content in the tobacco while rolling (***)

*** The moisture content can be controlled well after the tobacco is sheared to the proper particle size. (Fine powders - bulk cuts) I use a spray bottle of H2o to get the right moisture content. Overly moist tobaccos bind up in the injector and do not fill the tube right. Overly dry tobaccos produce excess fines and also clog the injector too.

It's an acquired touch kinda thing. One can tell if the tobaccos are too moist or dry, by the way they feel and inject. If too moist, one can dry it with a microwave oven. If too dry, we spray with water and mix to get the best results. There is an optimal range of moisture content that only comes with experience.

Yes, it is hit and miss, (At first) but with time and experience, one can immediately tell what they are likely to get in results and compensate as needed. Yeah, it's a muti-factorial game that RYO folks acquire over time. But if you demand a great smoke and not break the piggy-bank, it's worth the time to learn.

You can't own a gun in Australia though.

Safest place on the planet right now then.

And Camels are only $2.05 a pack. Took me a while to find that out though.

I don't know if I could handle that though. Call me a redneck or a coward or whatever. I believe the day is coming when it is every man for himself, and I will protect myself and my family by any means possible.. I am a Christian I'm not just out to have the upper hand because I own a firearm.

I am also a veteran, but I am not blind to the fact that this country is on a one way self destruct highway. If hillary is elected and she pulls the troops out of Iraq, there will be more terrorist attacks than we can handle, and she will be standing there like a deer in the headlights. The government will be in disarray, groups will rise up to take over, and before you know it our first female president will take us right back into a civil war.

As for me, I won't complain about paying a dollar more for smokes as long as I have my guns.

jamesp on 02/12/2007 07:42:37
I smoked from the time I was big enough to get my little hands on a cigarette and hide in the woods and burn em up...untill February 4, 2005. A group of us over on the Harley Davidson Tech Talk board quit at about the same time. I finally made my mind up and gathered the resolve to stick to it. Several of us are still smoke free, I think about 50 percent of the group. Im proud of myself for quitting but Im sure some damage has been done.

cplkittle, where in Ga. do you live? Im 50 miles W of Atlanta, right off of I-20 a few miles.

swez on 02/12/2007 08:02:09
You must be reading some of the same stuff I do. Try looking up 12/21/2012 on google and read what come up carefully. Some say we are now in the early stages of WW III. If Iran gets Nukes, they will use them against Israel and this is how we, (USA) will be sucked into the fray.

http://www.december212012.com/

I see the same things as you are alluding to. Economic collapse, political folly, more wars and probably with Nukes this time too. America will become a wasteland in the big cities and folks who know how to live off the land will survive better than city folks.

I also believe that the upper crust in our worldly society will attempt to oppress the poor and middle class even more than now. This will probably spark a civil insurection that makes the previous Civil War look like a cake walk.

The power mongers will attempt to control the masses, take away their guns and indoctrinate our military to a point where many will turn on their own people. We will probably have a cashless society by then and a one world govt will emerge.

We will soon have imbedded ID chips and this is the only way to work, buy or sell goods. If we don't take the chip, hard times will befall those who don't. This is to some eyes, the "Mark Of The Beast". Those who take the chip, will be damned people. The true Christian's will not take the chip and be separated from those who do. They will probably form Co-ops and pool their resources to survive. (Ie: Hunters, farmers and other people who can live off the land)

Also, there will be an attempt to reconcile all religions to bow to the Great Whore of Babylon. (The Catholic Church) The next Pope, could be the last Pope and a puppet for the Anti-Christ. Some believe the next Pope will be none other than a mirror image of Pope John Paul II. Read this and mull it over: (Facinating read too)

Am not sure how all this will play out in the next 5 years, but if it is even remotely accurate, this planet is in for a very rough ride. (Wars, earthquakes, floods, Tsunami's and other natural disasters will multiply) Look at what we are already witnessing in other parts of the world now?

Basically, all hell may break loose in the next few years. (Hillary or not) Even the Bible's Prophetic books tell of such things. (Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah and of coarse, Revelations. (Not to mention the Myans and to some degree, even Nostradamus)

There will be scoffers and they will ignore or attempt to apply science to the things that cannot be explained. This is a true sign of the end times and a new beginning as well.

Had enough for one sitting? Dig deeper and things will begin to make sense in time. As some have said before... "Pray for peace, but keep your powder dry") How fitting a statement huh?

I like what you said about the farmers and the hunters will have to use those skills to survive.

...and the meek shall inherit the Earth.

cplkittle on 02/12/2007 09:39:35
Are you in Alabama, James, or just too close. ;)
I live 50 miles north of Atl. just north of Rome in a little town called Armuchee.

swez on 02/12/2007 11:59:35
I think Jim is on the Southeast coast area. You may want to post to his last link for details.

Yes, the meek will indeed inherit the earth... but not w/o a good fight and a lot of assitance from JC and His clan of Super Warriors. hehe

This is a pretty deep topic here on all fronts. For one, I'm moving to Georgia. As if I didn't want to move enough already, $2.75 a pack would probably add up to thousands over the course of year in my life....I need to cut the hell back!

On the deeper side, I hate to say it, but this country in my opinion is politically screwed. I may not be as well educated on the issues at hand, (thanks for the enlightenment as well.) but it looks like the next election will have a lot of things ripping apart at the seams.

The Democrats will have a tough election no doubt, with Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama pretty much stealing the show, this leaves the pool of voters to decide between a woman or an African American, or a Republican, who have left a nasty taste in the mouths of so many Colorado residents, provided the primaries turn out the way it looks down here.

Although the state is mostly red, around my neck of the woods, (Boulder) we have a lot of left wing extremists, who would die before voting in a Republican. This makes things very difficult for my little mind to grasp, as we also have our fair share of rascists and bigots who would die before voting into office a woman or African American.

I almost wouldn't be too suprised to see a third party candidate, (such as libertarian) making some major waves here in Colo. A lot of people here are very angry with the way the country is being ran, and won't vote at all because of the way things have been. I'm dissapointed to se this "boycott" or "strike", as many of my freinds are picketers in this case.

This war is killing the American spirit, as so many people are so dilligently divided on the topic, it almost seems we could see fighting over the fighting, at least on a bigger scale than a fistfight, which is happening here because people are getting itchy, and nobody likes people talking bad about the war and how it's troops are killers and conquerers when they have a son who got his brain spilled in Iraq in the name of freedom

I am not a religious man, but a spiritual one, and to me it seems like all the peices are lining up on the chessboard for a very biblical "end of days." This world is circling the drain according to the Christian Bible, and even one such as myself can see prophecies being fuffilled. Times are definitely tough, and what is a person to do in a situation like this.

I hate to put it like this, but the statement "ignorance is bliss" definitely holds true in a situation like this when you are a "Fence Straddler" such as myself. Not that I mean to be that way, but things are so confusing and tense that I can't agree with myself on some of this stuff. Sometimes I wish I didn't even know, but only sometimes. Another issue I can't agree with myself on!

Ignornace, bigotry and hate seem to be personality features that get a person ahead in this world sometimes.

Ok well I'm done, as I can't find another educated or personal statement to make. I have tried to keep it as politically correct as possible, and I apologize if anybody is offended by my comments.
