Hey whats up guys. If anyone is interested in following my audio install in my toyota pickup you can take a look at the following link. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2480827 I would post all the pics up on here but I dont want to waste Walts Bandwith. Its mainly an SQ based install and its still in the works. The majority of the install is fiberglass including front stage ( kick panels with Diamond d6 5.25" Comps), enclosure (CDT SQ-12) , and rear stage (crossovers, D6 6.5comps). All amplifiers will be in the bed of the truck once I get my tonneu cover back from the shop. Its going to take some time. I took a week of Vacation to strictly work on it but alas, its going to rain tomorrow and for the next 4 days (I picked the wrong week(. If anyone has questions regarding how to fiberglass, or anything with the install dont hesitate to ask. Thanks Here is the link http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2480827 Replies (6) cplkittle on 02/6/2007 21:40:22 sweet. It makes me want to rip everything out of my car and do it over. I miss the days when I could spend time on things and do them right. The one thing I hated about working in car audio is that you can't slow down and take your time and make everything fit perfectly. That is a really nice box by the way. I like the flared end to the port. The little things like that show that you take pride in your work. What is the port size? 2x12x36? I have always liked the way boxes with long ports sounded. They just hit harder than short ports for some reason. swez on 02/6/2007 21:48:35 Very nice craftsmanship PL!!! Does my heart good to see skilled hands at work. Wonder how the CDT 12" woofer will sound w/ the 250/1 amp??? Swez PS Simple Green is a great product. I use it for many things and it cleans up tires and alloy wheels like a charm too. (Gets that ugly brake pad dust to vamoose) One thing though, the Industrial Strength version is very strong and needs to be mixed with water on some cleaning projects. A great degreaser under the hood and such too. Beers all around... this ones on PL... hehe P0werLifter on 02/6/2007 22:15:30 HaHa Thanks guys. Yah Kittle the lil box's port is 2*x"12"x36 If I remember correctly. I just ripped it out today. The 8w7 sounded really good. Had some great output for such a small woofer, although personally I think it needs a lil more juice than 250watts to really show its potential. Just for giggles I think im going to build a lil SPL box for the 8w7 and tune it to about 50hz with a 4" or 6" Aero port and throw as much power on it as I can and see what I can hit with it haha. Either that or its going in the GF's car. But i think I would be more fun to tinker with it. I like taking my time, but your right kittle, if you go to slow and try to make everything fit just perfect you end up getting burnt out. I was going to get the majority of the work done this week and hopefully start sanding everything but this rain just ruined my plans =/ Swez, I'm actually going to be giving the CDT SQ-12 around 600watts RMS with my Orion 2500d. Just have to get it from the rents house since its in my closet there haha. I just sold my RE 15" XXX last week for $300 and wanted to try the CDT. I've heard they sound great in small enclosures and since I dont have alot of room and decided to give it a whirl. I havent had a sealed enclosure in forever but wanted more SQ this go around so here we are. The Frequency response on the SQ12 is 10hz-400hz. swez on 02/7/2007 06:35:07 After reading up on that woofer, it looks like a real winner in smaller sealed enclosures. At $300.00 retail... it had better huh? I wonder what the roll off slope looks like below say 50 Hz.? However, with the transfer function we often see in car/truck installs, this one may indeed give very good SQL at 30 - 60 Hz. Keep us posted OK? You can now see the location of the components glassed into the sides. 30Hertz on 03/1/2007 17:30:02 Bah cant get it to post lol http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y287/SubSonicVibez/Sanded1.
