However, they don't make a large range of speakers and amps to complete most systems. You may wish use a 4-6 channel amp here. (2 channels for a sub later?) Alpine, JBL and Infinity all make nice amps. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-TtZxqszdj7O/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=120&I=108R5761A Ford often uses 5x7"/6x8" oval speakers as stock. With some fabrication and brackets, most guys can easily adapt to 5.25" rounds or 6.5's. Not sure if you can get 6x9's in the rear panels w/o some extra fabrication. Consider JBL and Infinity speakers as possible upgrades from stock factory. Components in front, coaxials in back are a good mix and help keep your expenses down too. As for speakers, JBL and Infinity make 2 ohm Comps and Coaxials for your vehicle. With the amp mentioned above, 80 watts RMS x 4 @ 2 ohms/channel and when bridging channels 5&6 for a sub, you get almost 300 watts RMS to a 4 ohm sub. As for the missing harness, there is a work-a-round for that in our DIY articles list: http://www.clubknowledge.com/Car_Audio_FAQ/?t36 Comments? The colors should be the same on the other side of the amplifier. From the radio to the amplifier will be a small square plug. If it is cut there will be 8 or 9 wires in a small bundle with an aluminum foil shield under the insulation. Is this a 2 door explorer sport or a standard 4 door explorer? Also do you have the factory 8" sub in the rear passenger side cargo area? mrutah12 on 02/6/2007 11:26:48 this is a 4dr xlt i dont see a 8in subwoofer in the right rear cargo area i did find the amp. and is a square plug with 8 wires where the radio was before but the plug was cut off i bought a converter i gues thats what you would call it its made by scosche part # FAL3A im going to use this for now until my amp and speakers come in that i ordered i also have a bypass wire connector for the amp that i bought last night to bypass the amp i really dont want to run new wires.everybody has been great on this site i cant beleive the help i have been getting thanks well back to work on the radio install project talk to you all later swez on 02/6/2007 14:03:25 Have you decided on an amp and speaker set for this truck yet?
