FYI: Remembering PT Teal

Hi guys,

I just received notice regarding the passing of one of our CK members. His screen name was PT Teal. (Terry McDonald) His wife, (Carla) sent me an e-mail stating Terry passed away on Friday, Jan 5, 2007. SAD

Terry had one bout with cancer, (~3 years ago) and they had to remove one eye to get it all. The cancer went dormant until a few months ago and came back fast and would be terminal at that point. Well, it was and to those who remember Terry well, he will be missed.

For those who wish to send condolences to Carla and the family at large, I'll see if I can get an address or e-mail so that she can hear from those who wish to respond. USFLAG

A Thought: Flowers are nice for some situations. However, a card or cash can be the best gift if family resources are tight. I don't know how Carla is doing in the financial department. However, if she is OK in that area, then she can always donate funds to a charity of her choice. (AKA National Cancer Society) or the like. IDEA

Just thought I should pass on the news. For those who remember Terry, he had a heart as big as Texas. Thoughts/Comments?

Regards,
Swez

Is there a paypal account that I can send money to? I didn't know him, but I can spare a little to help out. I know there are alot of expenses that need to be taken care of.
I could send it to you, Dave if you want to collect for them. or if you just want to save up for some flowers, whichever you see fit.

Wow!

I have been so busy for about a month or so, I didn't know Teal was in bad shape again. I'll keep him in my thoughts & prayers.

Those of you younger folks out there, life is more precious the more of it we live. After you go through the many stages of life, all the memories you acquire. All of the people you hold dear. Once you start seeing them disappear one by one, it's impossible to replace them and what they mean to us.

Swez, let me know if Carla hints at any other assistance she may need.

PS what part of the country did he reside?

damn, I was just thinkin how bad it sucks to be me since I just got out of the hospital with another bout with my intestinal shtuff that left me in the hospital for 4 more days.

Terry was in palm springs when i went to see him and install his alarm. I only got to hang out with him 2 times but it was 1 time more then I needed to feel he was good guy. He could scare you a little at first glance as he owned a tattoo and body piercing shop and had alot of ink. He was also a big guy but as soon as he said hello he you knew he was golden.......

times are tough but I would throw a few bucks to help her out if we can arrange something swez........

Same here guys... just not sure how to best handle the matter yet. I don't have a PayPal account at the moment and need to get a confirmed address on where Carla is living now too.

Then, we need a pointman to collect funds and funnel them off to Carla. I don't mind doing this as I did have a lot of e-mail and phone contact with Terry and Carla, a few years back. If any wish to participate, just shoot me an e-mail and we can discuss the details off the board. swezdp@juno.com

PS This donation will be from CK members and all who participate, will be noted in the sympathy card/letter.

better idea...............

why no dedicate part of this forum to him. he has not been here for a while but he has certainly been missed and will continue to. he was always willing to give any ideas, or learnings that he had to anyone, kinda the way things should be here....... he was an audio newb really considering the amount of time he was into car audio but his attitude and personality made him learn quickly, pick up alot of things, and then share them. I would really have considered him a role model in alot more ways then in this forum after the maybe 24 hrs I spent with him......

Idunno, teals knowledge help, I can't get a good name at the moment but it seems like a good way to remember a good man. The forest green on here maybe needs some updating?????

really, nothing?

Am chewing on that one a mite... Afterall, there are only a few here now that even remember Terry. Care to expand a bit on your idea?

At the moment, was thinking of something more tangable for his widowed spouse too.

Sorry I have to be brief, but I need to run here. I recommend the idea above. a memorial (perpetual) site where the widow can put in pictures, we can add stories, etc.

more later this week
