if your down to the mag. touchin the frame you may be SOL. how much room do ya need, you can make spacers to go between the door panel and the speaker, i know what your talkin bout, i had that same problem in my grand prix, where i was hittin the frame, good think i just cut a lil more off the bottom of the hole and get the speaker in. but if you have lots of room left to go, you may have to do some type of custom plates or sumtin to take up the gap between the speak and the frame. good luck

Are you sayin skip the plastic frame and put wood around the opening in the door. Then screw the speaker to the wood?

i take it your door already had speakers. was there a plastic baffle behind where the speaker was? if so you can remove that and maybe your speaker will fit. but in my grand prix there was not speakers i had to cut a hole in the door panal and make sure it was in a location where it wouldnt hit the door frame. are you having to cut that plastic frame or can you take it out. if you can take it out id try that first and see if you have enough room, if not then you will probably have to use wood or some other material to give you enough room between the mag and the metal door frame. you will be placing the wood on the outside of door panel and then mounting your speakers to it just as you would with door frame, pre drill the holes in the wood so they line up with the original mounting holes, may have to use longer screws to get through the wood but this should work if i understand the problem correctly
