Replies (11) cplkittle on 12/29/2006 01:04:19 The box is a good match, a little larger than the specs, but not much. It should be fine. I have seen alot of these speakers blown. That does not mean that they are not any good. The fact that they are only 300 watts peak means that you will get good clean bass, but don't expect too much from them, and don't abuse them. They can't handle that much, and will fail on you if you push them too hard. 10" subs in a sealed box won't deliver much low end bass. They will give you a very clean accurate tight punch though. If that is what you are looking for, this is a good choice. lilschtive on 12/29/2006 01:41:06 I'm just going back and forth with 10'' subs for my brother! I just can't find the right pair for the right price. I'm looking for (2) subs less than $125 for a pair (if possible). I know this is preety general, but can you guys help me find a pair! I thank you all a lot for helping me out. Something like this: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-1mqSxrxVUEr/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=520&I=1081050W http://www.crutchfield.com/S-1mqSxrxVUEr/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=520&I=2065C104 how are those two ^^^^ -Thanks Again, Steve swez on 12/29/2006 02:26:13 Not a bad choice, but they like a slightly smaller box. 0.75 cf/sub sealed. Easy to change this box too. Just add a few blocks of 2" x 6" x 12" (2 blocks/chamber = 0.76 cf) http://www.epinions.com/Infinity_Reference_1050w_10_4_ohm_Component_Subwoofer_Car_Speaker ($47.00/sub) Happy now? Swez lilschtive on 12/29/2006 12:12:50 Hey Swez, isnt that link you posted the same as the one i posted above? The Infinity (Maybe you didnt see crutchfield has a deal; $89 for 2, not 1)--Well Crutchfield is out of stock though :( And that sub...can i get an amp around $90-120 range? (just wondering the price range ) lilschtive on 12/29/2006 12:16:12 Also, i have alots of dampening material. I'll make sure to put blocks and foam in. thanks, steve lilschtive on 12/29/2006 12:23:14 The Kicker and the Infinity are the exact same price, but yould go with the Infinty's? Ash on 12/29/2006 18:33:37 I'd pick Infinity any day over Kicker. Since Kicker has changed their manufacturer, it seems to me that the entry to mid level stuff isn't as pliable. Almost all the gear (subs) seems to want larger than normal enclosures or either have a nasty peak designed for "boomers". Infinity has kept with what they are known for, SQL.... swez on 12/29/2006 21:24:14 Ya-Ya!!! Swez lilschtive on 12/30/2006 00:12:33 Any kind of reccomended amps for the infiniti or kicker? Ash on 12/30/2006 07:48:50 The Kenwood KAC-8152D would be a nice one for the Infinity's. At 2 ohms it is rated at 550 rms and is class D. I seen a couple on ebay that you could get new in the box for about $132 shipped. I ordered from one of the sellers before with no problem. Don't know about other retailers prices but, I believe that is a fair deal. swez on 12/30/2006 22:50:49 In either case, use a pair of 4 ohm SVC's for that amp. In parallel, you get 2 ohms and a perfect match for that amp. If using DVC type subs, use the 2+2 DVC's here. This too, nets a perfect 2 ohm load.
