When going for a amp for highs (or any one for that matter), you will want the one with the lowest distortion rating and highest signal to noise rating for the power required.

which means your recommending me Alpine PDX4.150 OR JL audio amp .... to be the perfect set of Quality and claritywise tp push the polk audio SR6500 comps ...

need more advice and explainations please

I whould recommend the JL amp for its build quality. That usually makes the differance in high end amps compared to good amps along with a few extra features.

Also the JL amp puts out all of its power from 11.5-14.4 volts which is a strong point in my decision to choose it along with its reputation.

Both are clean amps with the JL being a little more exceptional. Chances are you may or may not hear the difference between the two. I doubt you will though.

After working with and installing several JL amps, I can say they definitely a superb product. Will you hear a major difference? Perhaps not initially! But with time, the more critically we listen, the more we can separate the differences.

Do you have a link to this newer Alpine amp? With that and considering your budget, the Alpine may make it good choice.

The biggest factor in any SQ system, is speaker placement and EQ. Each vehicle has its own quirks and we can work around them in time, with lots of critical listening and fine tuning.

Amp power is one thing to somewhat consider. There is very little sonic difference between 100/150 watts RMS/speakers. It's how much dynamic headroom we add, to keep the amps from clipping.

The owner of the shop I work at use to work at JL in the engineering dept. From what he has told me there is a difference, besides just the price........ After personally working with them I do not have anything bad to say about their amps........

Those polks you ahve selected are real crisp and clean comps, you will be happy with those,

Regarding the amp, yes both the amps have a lotta difference design and built wise, but no matter which amp you use both of them are real good ones and your ears wont be able to make out the difference between them..

ok here's the link for the alpine pdx4.150 4ch amp:
http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/products/product.php?model=PDX-4.150

and the link for the JL audio 4/450 amp 4ch:
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=255

if i compared the two here in price range thier almost close to each cause , size does matters here cause i already got alpine mrd-1001 mono amp pushing my jl audio 12w7 sub so the mono amp already takes so much space and the size of the jl audio amp 4/450 4ch amp is almost the close to my mono alpine amp and i don;t have enough room to play with in my trunk

i hear most peaple here are recommending the JL audio amp in the terms of quality and some say it won't make a diffrence ....

at the moment i'm using alpine HU cda-9807 3preout, mp3/wma single din ...

but for near future i'll be getting the alpine IVA-310 7inch touch moniter which has a cool equlalization featuers,,,

need some more advice , with people who has experinced the polk sr6500, and the pdx 4.150 amp

plus one point if i'll be feeding 2 pairs of polk sr6500 with jl audio amp i don't think the output of the amp will be fair enough for the total channels cause it pushs the front ch 150rms@4ohm and the rear ch 75rms@4ohm... but in the alpine it pushes 150rms@4ohm in 14.4 volt ,,, so this is more fair ...

please more guidence and advice

many thanks

Both are fine amps and either will do a very good job powering your Polks.

Yes, many of us like the JL products as they are built very well and have excellent power supply features. However, if you cannot make it fit well with the Alpine sub amp used now, no reason not to use the Alpine amp mentioned.

Those Polks have a very advanced crossover network and should make almost any amp sound very good. I don't see any reason why not to use that Alpine 4 channel amp.

Trust us... Either amp isn't going to have a quality issue. If it is, it will be so minute that I doubt anyone will be able to detect it, even after a long audition.

If your going to have a size issue, then go for the one that fits.

Sorry guys, that was a poor drunken attempt at a laugh..
I just thought it would be funny to recommend the opposite quality of what was being discussed.
Matter of fact, Swez, I did get a little red tin with a lump of coal in my stocking.

swez on 12/27/2006 23:26:25
Ahhh Kit, you've been a naughty boy to get a lump of coal in your stocking... hehehe

Don't feel bad, mine was empty this year, but you already know why and no, am not dissappointed either. Just a tough year here at the Swez house.

However, I do have my eye on that new dang flyrod though. When things quiet down, that's my present to myself this year. Yes, it's the little things that matter most. (A kind word, a full tummy, a warm bed, gas in the car and a few good friends to swap stories with are plenty good) THINK positive!
