hi

i wounder is it true that if we used 1/2 power of the amp will produce better qualtiy than using the full or 3/4 of it's power.

and the same question for speakers and Sub's

thanx

do you mean runing the gains half way as opposed to three quarters? if so it just depends on the speaker and what they will handle, if you are running an amp that pushes 800 watts rms and a sub that will only handle 800 max then yes, you will get better quality because probably much higher and you will ruin your subs. but if your sub is 1000 watts rms and you are runnin that same 800 watt amp 3/4 will not decrease the quality but will increase the power going to the sub resulting in higher spl. same with speakers, just depends on how much they can handle, the rms is what they can handle constantly but max is what they can handle for a short period of time, wait for swez or other gold to comment on this but im pretty sure im correct about this. good luck

Yes, this is correct as Comp VR mentioned. A careful choice of speakers and amplifiers will net quality, undistorted sound for your system at moderate to high SPL listening levels.

Of coarse, as you go up in amp power (RMS power) the speakers have to be able to manage that power w/o excess distortions. A major source of distortion is often from the HU running out of gas.

If you can get your HU volume up to 60-70% of max power w/o distortions, you are good to go. However, the more Bass boost used at the HU, the sooner the distortion will come into play. This can be overcome by proper set up techniques of the add on amps to drive your speakers.

Basically, a comination of proper set up techniques, well matched speaker and amps and using them within the range of power they are designed for... you'll get a better than average install and audio results.
