I need to know how to get some music off an iPod. I bought one used from a guy and it has some good stuff on it that I don't have. (and before you get wonky on me... its not a copyright infringement. His music was purchased and this falls under legal transfer) I did it once before when our old computer crashed. I was able to pull the files off the iPod like an external HD and re-import them. I had to look everything up on the CDDB for track titles and what-not but at least I saved the music. BUT... that was from PC to PC. This guy was a mac user. When I plug it in to my computer I get that its "not formatted, would you like to format now?" When I try to use iTunes to view it, it says that its not the most current version, even though it is. I try to run updater and it says its current. Interestingly enough, the same thing happens on my neighbor's Mac when I plug it in to his computer. It says its not formatted. Shouldn't it just be mp3s or m4p files that I should be able to manage without the interface problems? There is some way to switch the iPod from mac to PC without losing any data, but I don't know how. curtis73 on 12/21/2006 06:40:35 Thanks for the input... I had a friend call me and in casual conversation he mentioned some freeware that makes it possible. I found some that seems to be working. Its two bundles: one makes the PC able to view a mac-formatted drive, and the other to view the ipod files. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
