hi there dudes well i'm sure that you guys gona help me on THIS : 1. what the differ between mid bass and loud speakers? 2. i need a varity of best and reasonable pricing of loud speakrs & mid bass also ? 3. can i mix the spl with sq speakrs togther ? Replies (2) compvr15s on 08/12/2003 03:27:02 a loud speaker is a sub woofer, meant to handle all the lower frequencies, a mid bass plays the higher frequencies that are filtered from the subs, they add punch to your system. as for mixing spl with sq yea you can, you can get really high spl sub woofers with decent sq but maybe really high sq midbass with less spl which is fine becuase the subs will give plenty of spl. as response to #2 that all depends on what you think sounds good, to each their own. it may sound good to you but another may think it sounds horrible. but as far as reasonable priced id probably recommend audiobahn or kicker subs, they are both pretty high spl and fair sq, well kickers are fair sq im not sure about audiobahn, i have only heard the bandpass 15s and i wasnt too impressed. but just stick around and wait for others to respond becuase i may be wrong about some things. good luck. Swez on 08/12/2003 06:42:29 Speakers are designed to operate in certain frequency ranges well, but have gaps above or below the "sweet spot" of each speaker in the system. Midbass, Subs, midrange and tweeters all fall into the general category of "loudspeakers". Here's a general break down: Sub woofers: 30-100 Hz (low bass, kick drum and low synth material) Midbass: 60-300 Hz ( some bass, more lower midrange like piano, Tenor sax, upper strings on bass and tom toms) Midrange: 300-3,000 Hz. (guitar, vocals, snare drum, piano mids) Tweeters: 3000 Hz & up: (Cymbals, upper guitar harmoincs, voice sibulence and upper synth) For most car systems, a good blend of 2-way Component or coaxials in front/rear stages of he car are more than adequate. Comps are much better for SPL and SQ and best in the front door or kick panels, where coaxials in rear are usually fine. Then, a sub system is added to round out the entire frequency bandwith of music. The interior speakers are the heart of your system. The sub system is the deep punch/bump. The amplifuers are the muscle and the HU is the brain that tells everthing what to do. This does not have to be very complex or overly expensive to get quality gear off the Internet. Forget big chain stores for buying gear as they are more interested in selling you what they have... not what is value oriented. They are there to make a large profit and commissions... not to serve your informational needs. It is indeed rare to find a chain store salesman that really knows the game and is there to service the customer. He is a rare gem... if you find one. Set your sound goals based on what you can afford and add the good stuff as your budget allows. Just be realistic about how long this will take and some research and feedback here, will help formulate a plan of attack. You can have both SQ and SPL in a car system. Just know that the higher the SPL you want, the higher the price tag of each item you'll need to buy. NOTE: It is wise to know what power your car electricals can deliver to your sound gear... amps can draw large amounts of power when you crank them. Having adequate power from the ALT & BAT are key to high power amps. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
