Cap Question

if my battery dies and my cap drains will i have to recharge the cap when i get a new battery? and if so where do i get another resistor because mine broke. the wire just fell off. or if i get a new battery will it charge itself back up???

When you replace the battery just hook up the battery like normal. Leave everything connected on the cap. It will arc from the battery to the battery cable like a welding machine to charge the cap, but it won't hurt it. The only reason they supply the light or resistor is to prevent the arc from damaging the gold or platinum plating on the terminals on the cap. It might leave a burnt spot on the battery post, but it won't hurt anything.

That resistor is just an easy tool to help charge the Cap a bit slower than Kit mentioned.

You can get the same effect by just leaving the Cap connected to your cable and when replacing the Bat, it will charge the Cap again. You'll get a bit of a spark at the Bat terminal, but this will not mar the Cap finish when done this way either.
