I understand that alot of newer HU out there nowadays have hight output power to the speakers. And many of these HU requires a dedicated power line connected to the battery directly. But if you are not using the internal amp of the HU, is it absolutely nessasary to have a dedicated battery lead line connected directly to the battery? For example the newer Alpines (such as the CDA-9813/9815)

the dedicated lead is for your "presets". try hooking up a cd player off of just the acc wire and u'll know
