Factory to Factory Radio Installation

I have a 1998 Ford Ranger that came with a factory am/fm only stereo. I bought a factory am/fm cassette. The wiring harnesses are different sizes. The one on the original deck is larger than the new one. What is the best way to hook this stereo up? If I need to purchase a harness and reverse harness which ones? Someone said 70-1770 to 71-1770. Is that right? I looked at some pics and am not sure that the 70-1770 is the correct one. Thanks for any help!!

Ford radios have many different plugs.. however we can get this straightened out for you. The easiest way is if we knew what make/model the new radio came from.

These are the four options that came with your vehicle from the factory:

Can you tell me which one you have and which one you might need? The BHO plugs are factory replacements, and the BHA are for aftermarket, just using them as a reference.

Or if you can email me a picture of the back of both radios and let me know which one you had and the one you want to use.. I will be able to tell you. The only problem we might encounter is if one has premium sound and one does not.
