I have 2 kicker 6.5's in the front doors rated at 75rms /150 peak. and 2 polk 4x6's in the rear doors rated at 40rms/120 peak.

what would be the biggest 4-channel amp i could put on these? when i turn it up past 3/4 it gets very distorted

Amps with similar power ratings to your speakers will do well, but your fronts are nearly twice as capable as your rears, some some careful dial-in's with your gain and fader controls are key here.

A probable reason your speakers are distorting is that they are running full range, taking on bass frequencies they can't really reproduce, expecilly the 4x6. Also, by turning the volume up that high, you are probably pushing your head unit onto clipping, causing a distorted signal. Also your speakers are probably suffering from underpowering, making futher distortion.

What kind of budget are you looking at for your four channel here? that helps us to find out what range your working in, then offer some suggestions.

What do you have running to them now? To be safe, I would feed the fronts with at least a 65-85 rms wattage amp. The 4x6" 's could make decent use of a HU with caps to block out the bass.
