I don't know if any of you have heard the rumor of the 2007 Alpine Headunit with the integrated iPod interface or not, but its pretty intriguing. I would love to see the specs on it, and I'm hoping that its not just a fallacy. Quote: Alpine's iDA-X001 was designed and developed with input from Apple. The iPod connects via the USB input. The iDA-X001 displays artist, album, CD art and track information from the iPod. Some are USB, others are simple AUX input jacks and a few can access AUX Data link Buss features, (Ie: CD Changer integrators) as well. Just think ahead and figure out what needs you have now and later. Then, read the manuals on HU's you like and see how they allow for various integration packages. Swez aposynthesi on 11/26/2006 11:02:56 Well, I know that other manufacturers have a similar technology, but I liked this model in particular because it displays the interface directly from the iPod. Others have been saying that the screen that you see on the righthand side would also allow you to play video from your iPod, which may, or may not be a plus for some people. swez on 11/26/2006 15:29:24 Yup! Swez ttocs on 11/26/2006 16:37:53 I do not see why a 2inch screen would be good while driving..... That thing is certainly strange looking. cplkittle on 11/27/2006 00:58:51 I have driven my coworker's truck with the AVIC-Z1 I installed for him. It is really not that bad watcing a movie on that while driving, although he has run off the road a few times, but I can not imagine a 2" screen. by the way V for Vendetta is an awesome movie to watch in a vehicle with a really good sound system. aposynthesi on 11/27/2006 08:05:58 Those in-dash touchscreens are really nice. I wouldn't mind having one myself. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
