tried everything still no go, bought diffrent rca nothing tried diffrent amp nothing use the ground staight to the battery nothing found a solid ground no go checked all my fuses everything is fine, i think my deck is fried. is there such thing as blowing the rca inputs on a deck much help appreciated thanks Replies (1) swez on 11/20/2006 21:48:47 Check your previous post. I outlined a few basic tests one can do to check out what works and what is not. I'd have to agree that your HU, (RCA preamps) are probably damaged as a result of that momentary short. The amp often has short protection circuits in it. However, due to other factors yet to be identified, this one migrated back to the HU and "may" have damaged internal circuits. Is your HU still under warranty? If yes, that may be your best route. If not, installing a known good HU may be your next option. Swez PS Mind deleting this post after you have read it?
