Hey guys i'm new to this site, and I probably didn't do this right. But anyways I just got a 97 Blazer. I am in the process of installing a system. I have a crappy 1000 watt amp that probably only runs about 800 watts. Which works just fine for my 2-500 watt bazooka subs. My problem is that i'm not sure where I can run my power wire. I would like to avoid drilling through the fire wall, but if I have to does anyone know a good spot to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

In most cars/trucks, there is a knockout plate for a clutch pedal cable just left of the brake pedal. This is usually a safe place, and you may have to pull the carpet back to locate same.
See what ttocs has to say as he may be more familiar with this model vehicle.

For my power cable in my 1987 Blazer, theres a spot just in front of the front passenger seat. From there you can secure the cable to the underframe of your blazer. On mine, there wasnt anything under it. It looks like an oval plate that u can knock out, but it's welded. Since yours is a different model I'm not sure.
Where are you planning to put the amp?

You also might try looking in the door jam sometimes you have enough room too run your power line from the bat to the door jam then under the carpet . The rubber seal will prevent it from being pinched . It is a last resort to running under the truck.

do not go through the door jamn....... If we are going to give advise, lets make it good advise....
There is plenty of room to make a hole and add a gromet. It really only takes a few seconds....

If your 97 is similar to the 2000 I had, you could try looking to the right of the gas pedal. I found a grommet where there were already a few wires being passed through. I just opened up the rubber a tad, and slid the power wire right on through.
Also, you may want to venture on over to www.mychevytruck.com, and take a look at some of the galleries. I seem to remember someone having a pic of where he ran power through the firewall.
