I currently have a DDA-650wt deck i have everything set up correctly now and just have a stupid question with options on the deck if anyone knows how to do it please let me know. I am trying to enable the subs on the DVD/CD player it works on the radio but not the DVD player. I know its just a setting the wiring has been done correctly and checked for mistakes. So if anyone knows how to fix the setting please let me know. Replies (7) swez on 11/10/2006 11:50:42 Trust me... it's not a menu setting. It's a miswire at the HU that is causing this. We've seen this type of post, dozens of times before. Pull your HU and look to see if there are 2 blue wires. One is marked Pwr Ant. The other should be REMote amp. The one marked REM, (Usually Blue and white stripe) goes back to the sub amp for turning it on. FYI: Some HU's only have a Power Antenna line on a stock wiring harness. You can tell if this is the case by selecting AM/FM and watch the sub power lights come on. Now, switch to CD/AUX/DVD mode. If the amp lights go out, you are not getting power at the amp REM lug, to turn on the amp. If you do not have a REMote amp line in this harness, you can tap off the ACC/IGN, (Red wire) in the HU harness, to feed amp REM and this will power up your amp as long as the key is in ACC mode or car is running. Give it a try... it works every time. Swez PS If this were a setup step or menu driven issue, it would be covered in the Install/User manuals. If you don't have a copy of them, see if you can get a copy for future references. The manuals are printed for the benefit of the Installer and user. If we don't read or have them on hand, one is basically "flying blind". Good luck! USFLAG ttocs on 11/10/2006 12:51:01 that is strange then....... Would you have a link to the manual? YZF600R on 11/10/2006 12:53:23 No i dont have a link to it i am trying to find one right now swez on 11/10/2006 13:58:15 OK, looks like you will need the manual to figure out how to enable the sub channel for CD/DVD/AUX use. From what I gathered off one site, this is an older model and no longer carried on that site. I had never heard of that brand either. (Valor) It is a 5.1 series series with 5 internal amps and 3 pair of outputs. (Outboar Front, Rear and Sub amp outs) You'll need the User's Manual to figure out the proper menu selects to get all this working properly. Without it, you can simply try random menu selects until you find the one that allows the sub function to work, when the DVD/CD/AUX players are used. Swez YZF600R on 11/10/2006 15:06:36 Thanks i figured it out swez on 11/10/2006 15:27:39 Care to share what you discovered? It may help us to help others later, long after you leave this site. Well done too BTW, swez YZF600R on 11/11/2006 15:30:05 Yeah it was actually something really easy which is what i thought it would be. First off it was my friends deck and he wired it up first and hooked up the dvd player on the wire that does turn it off when car is running the safety feature so i fixed that after looking at that. Then thats when i started asking you guys. The second thing was wrong was just a setting in the deck i just couldn't find it in the manual so i just played around for a little bit until i found out what was wrong. Thats what i thought it was i am good at doing the wiring myself i buy systems from a wharehouse and sell them and install them as like a side job from my garage i just didn't really look at this one to hard cause i never did a dvd deck before but practicer does make perfect and thats something i always learn from this stuff.
