I have a 2004 F-150 i put all brand new speakers in it and put a DDA-650W deck in it with a 12" niche audio sub in it and a niche amp in it. Now i have everything hookep up to what i think is correct everything does work on it but only when i am driving it the sub will stop working. Now when i idle it does work. The second problem that i am occuring is that the sub will only work on the radio when i have the cd/dvd player on it doesn't work. I went and asked someone about it already and they couldn't give me an answer. Please help me if you have any idea what could be wrong thank you Replies (3) swez on 11/8/2006 13:02:03 This sounds like several possible problems are at work here. 1. Check all wiring that was done on this install (Loose wires on sub, amp and RCA's from HU) 2. It sounds like your HU was not wired properly if the sub channels go out in CD mode 3. Initially, it sounds like the HU wiring harness is wired incorrectly. The Red wire is switched and tapped off the ACC/IGN circuits. 4. The Yellow harness wire should be constant and have a 12 volt supply on it at all times 5. Your sub amp will not work in CD or AUX modes if using the Pwr Ant wire off the HU. It (amp) needs the amp REMote wire to turn on the external amps on 6. Proper grounding of the HU and amp are also very important. If the HU and amp are not grounded well, this creates many strange problems too. If you don't understand any of what I have outlined here, it would be to your benefit to have a Pro Installer go over the system and put things right. The issues noted, all point to a poor quality install process and lack of full understanding on what needed to be done. Good luck, Swez YZF600R on 11/8/2006 16:04:08 Thanks the only thing is that the sub works on the radio but when idle but when given gas when driving it the sub stops and thats the one part that i dont understand swez on 11/8/2006 21:13:27 That's why I said... have a Pro look it over! This is a rare problem and it is most likely due to poor grounding or some wiring issues a Pro Install will find in short order. The sub amp shutting off on CD/AUX is due to using the wrong REMote wire in the HU harness. That is easily corrected by using the Blue wire with the white stripe.
