I am putting together a system for my crew cab. I do not want to loose much space so I am leaning towards the MTX Thunderform enclosure for behind the rear seat. It holds 2 10" subs. I get 2 MTX 4500's for free with this. Are these subs good or should I get another set? Budget is pretty open as to suggestions. I want to do it right from the start. What amp would you use to power the 4500's? If changing subs what brand and amp? What is the best way to wiring this combination? Currently have Pioneer DEH-P6800MP Front and rear door speakers will be Kenwood 1739 and 1690 Amp powering door speakers Blaupunkt GTA4 Thank you for your help!! As for powering this you want to get a mono amp that is 450-500 watts at 2 ohms. You said the buget was open but I found this http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=13126 . 169,free shipping,1 year warranty. This will suit your power needs fine.If you don't like that one I'll list some good links so you could shop around, just remember 450-500 watts rms at 2 ohms is what to look for. http://www.cardomain.com/shoptype/Subwoofer+Mono+Amps http://sonicelectronix.com/cat_i22_car-amplifiers.html http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/millionbuy/amplifier.htm YZF600R on 11/11/2006 15:47:16 I would suggest what my friend did he has that same deck and he put 2 12" cvr comps in his sentra which are good for small airspace enclosures so i would say that you should do 2 10"cvr comps in there with that deck and it should extremely good they are clear and loud i cant remeber what amp we used for his car but we hooked up the speakers and subs and you could actually hear the base and music clear and still pretty loud from about half a mile away easily swez on 11/12/2006 12:20:52 The Thunderforms with preloaded subs can be very usable in this truck. The kit is optimized for MTX subs and not all bad. It would be challenging to find other subs that are shallow enough to fit in the Thunderform space as this box needs shallow mounted subs. I have seen other custom made truck boxes that were made specifically to fit the space behind the seats. It takes a lot of careful measuring and fabrication to get a well fitted box in there and add some stronger subs too. However, if you don't need a 150dB sub system, go with the Thunderform and 4500 series subs. Here are the specs on the T4510 series. You'll want a pair of T4510-4 SVC's for a perfect 2 ohms and 450 RMS power handling. http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/subwoofers/thunder4500.cfm Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
