For sub applications, Class D MONO amps are a very good choice due to the high efficiency they offer, simplicity of design, reliability and generally cost less than 2 channel amps of similar power ratings. These also do 1 or 2 ohm loads, depending on the maker.

The 2 channel (Class A/B) amps tend to be cleaner and best used for low power interior speaker applicaions. They are less efficient with regarde to power in VS power out of Class D amps. More circuits, more complex power supply and filtering is used in Class A/B amps, so they tend to cost more. Also, limited to 2 ohms/ch in stereo or 4 ohms min., for bridged functions.

Need to consider your electrical system power limits before you buy a large amp. If you choose too large and the electrical in your vehicle are limited to less than 100A ALT., costly upgrades are likely.

Say more about your application and how much amping power you are looking at. Then we can help sort out amp optiions.
