Ok...I dont usually post things like this on here..but I am going to make an exception...read the following statement made BY SENATOR JOHN KERRY....I don't know about all you guys, but I wasnt too happy about it. He was talking about kids going to school and getting an education, that this was the way of life, and his exact comment was: "If you make the most of it and study hard and do your homework and you make an effort to be smart you can do well, if you don't, you can get stuck in Iraq" Can you imagine the lifes of those parents who have lost their Sons and Daugthers over there figthing for this country, to have this SENATOR say that basically their kids died cause they were DUMB and Un-Educated !! It is an insult to Americans in Combat and their families. Like I said you take it how you want it, but I took offense to this.. I don't get involved with all this Politician stuff but this one got to me, and I'm just putting this out there just in case you did not see it.. MAD TINK Replies (9) swez on 11/3/2006 19:43:49 Yep, it sent the wrong message to me too. Ol' Loudmouth later tried to retract and soft pedal his remarks as a flubbed joke" "If you make the most of it and study hard and do your homework and you make an effort to be smart you can do well, if you don't, you can (Wind up like George Bush) and get stuck in Iraq" In any event, a popular war is no joke. A very unpopular war is not a good joke topic either. But one thing I'd like to see... is a full rat sweep in Washington DC and in each State that is not up to the performance levels we taxpayers deserve. I could go on ... but have more pressing things to attend to right now. Just called 911 for my Stepdad and were off to the ER. Say a prayer for Warren if you are so inclined. Gotta go now, swez MrBrownstone on 11/4/2006 02:58:09 according to his speechwriter, his remark was..."..you get US stuck in Iraq.." However, when he said it, he forgot to use the word 'US' (as written), which doesn't sound like a joke on Bush. Either way, I don't see how in any context he can backpedal out of that now. 20 yrs ago, what Trent Lott said (about Strom Thurman & slavery) and this would never have been broadcast since it was saig to 'friendly' audiences. But with the media penetration being so deep, it got both recorded and played out to the max. ShootuhMcBustaCap on 11/4/2006 04:38:25 Man, thats redicoulous. I won't say that I support the war, but when I't started, I wanted to join the marines. Kerry running around saying stuff like that seriously undermines his support for his own guys gettin capped off for his freedom...... ttocs on 11/4/2006 10:13:04 you didn't see the retort? http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/images/blpic-kerrystuckiniraq.htm swez on 11/4/2006 12:55:01 That is priceless Ttocs! Swez Tinker18 on 11/4/2006 13:05:57 That is the best remark I have ever seen....swez is right lol, priceless. -Tink MrBrownstone on 11/4/2006 20:31:33 That was funny. If only they included a jackass (donkey, burro) with a hoof in it's mouth....our lives would be complete. Victor on 11/5/2006 06:15:13 or a Mr. B... that wud be equally good too... GRIN cplkittle on 11/8/2006 03:19:37 this coming from the same man that wrote himself up for several highly coveted medals in vietnam. His purple heart was from a scratch on his arm from barbed wire. He notified the medic who gave him a band aid, then notified the CO that he was 'injured'. This fulfilled the only two requirements he needed to submit the paperwork for himself, and was then awarded the medals. I spent 8 years in the Marines, almost 6 months in Iraq and Kuwait. I don't consider myself uneducated. Assholes like him will get theirs. I don't know of any one US Marine that liked him. To us and I am sure I speak for most of the military, actions like George Bush visiting for Thanksgiving, suiting up and visiting the ground troops with kevlar helmet and body armor speak louder than any words that will ever come out of Kerry's mouth.
