what does everyone think of them.r there any difference in the newer designed subs?

The older CVR's are still useful and in the right enclosure design, they should do OK. I believe the earlier models were only 4+4 type DVC's. They have since added a 2+2 model to the line for better impedence matching abilities to larger Class D amps.

Usually, when sub models are around for several years, they do go through a few cosmetic and mechanical changes as needed. If design flaws are found to be major, this is often corrected in future models too. (Ie: Kicker Solobarics... they had fracturing/fatigue problems in the earlier models, around the edge ribbing and bends in the cone corners)

This was addressed in newer models as they changed the corners and added more ribbing supports to make a more robust sub.
